Geek Discussion Question

Sauron's One Ring of Power was a Horcrux.

Discuss.

(And if you don't know what I'm talking about, you should be ashamed of yourself.)

  1. Sauron was already immortal, so I don't think that works.

His ring was a GUI to make it easier for his evil coding. Oh sure, he could have manually coded every new type of minion or dark spell, but it's so much easier to make an interface to do it for you.

Eventually he used it so much that he lost his coding skills completely and when the interface crashed he was helpless.

  2. Should we have a cup of Cwoffee and discuss amongst ourselves?

I agree though.... was sauron really immortal? he showed up in battle and was defeated and his soul is tied in the ring so he never truly goes away until its destroyed.
    Kudos Baca!

  3. I'm with Jenny. Sauron is destroyed along with the ring.

One would think for as evil as he was (like maybe not quite as evil as Voldemort, but still mostly that evil... I dunno, maybe another question is which of them was more evil and why? but that is another discussion for another day), he would have more Horcruxes. Maybe he was content with just the one, or maybe he wasn't as skilled in that type of the dark arts, but neither of those ideas really make sense to me.

  4. I'm too tired to think about it... but I love the idea... interesting to further thought.
